The House just voted on a potential TikTok ban (again). Now what?

House lawmakers have approved legislation that could lead to a nationwide ban on TikTok, posing a significant threat to the company’s US operations. The bill would give TikTok approximately nine months to sell, with the possibility of a 90-day extension if progress is made toward a sale. The TikTok bill has been inserted into a larger foreign aid package, making it harder for lawmakers to oppose it. The Senate could vote on the bill within one to two weeks, and if passed, it would head to President Joe Biden’s desk. TikTok has the option to challenge the legislation in court.
