Brighton & Hove Albion are facing increasing injury concerns, exacerbated by midfielder Carlos Baleba's absence from the recent 2-1 loss against Liverpool due to a knee issue. The 20-year-old midfielder, who has missed only one of the 10 Premier League matches this season, was unable to play, sidelining him as a precautionary measure despite being initially slated to start. The coaching team emphasized their commitment to protecting young players' health in the face of demanding match schedules.

In the match, Jack Hinshelwood returned from a calf injury, taking Baleba's place. However, there were further challenges as Yasin Ayari, his midfield partner, exited the game with a left ankle injury after being substituted in the second half, and was seen limping heavily after the game.

Currently, Brighton is also managing injuries to several key players, including Lewis Dunk, Yankuba Minteh, Adam Webster, James Milner, Joao Pedro, Matt O'Riley, and Solly March. Some players are either still recuperating or have just resumed training but aren't yet fit for matches. The team is set to face Manchester City at the weekend.
