Food-delivery apps have raised their fees in response to cities’ new wage-increase requirements for gig workers. This has resulted in frustrated consumers, decreased restaurant orders, and a loss of delivery drivers. Lawmakers in New York City claim that the wage increases have been beneficial for workers. However, Seattle, which also implemented similar rules, is planning to roll them back due to negative feedback from drivers and restaurants.
