Three fires erupted on a Greek-flagged oil tanker in the Red Sea, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations. The Iran-aligned Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that it was part of their ongoing campaign against commercial shipping to support Palestinians. The tanker, carrying 150,000 metric tons of crude oil, poses an environmental threat. The Djibouti Ports & Free Zones Authority warned about the potential disastrous consequences for the marine environment. This is the third vessel operated by Delta Tankers to be targeted by the Houthis in the past month. Delta Tankers commented that they are working to move the vessel and cargo but did not provide further details for security reasons.
