Man charged with double murder after human remains found in suitcases on UK bridge

A man has been charged with two counts of murder after human remains were discovered at a well-known bridge in southwest England. The suspect, a 34-year-old Colombian national, was arrested in Bristol and charged by the London Metropolitan Police. The remains were found in suitcases at the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol and at the suspect’s address in Shepherd’s Bush, London. The victims, Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71, were previously in a relationship and lived together in the London apartment. Police are investigating possible linked offenses in the UK and internationally. The incident is categorized as a hate crime, but there is no evidence of a homophobic motive.
