Typhoon Yagi, the most powerful storm in Asia this year, was downgraded to a tropical depression on Sunday. The storm caused destruction in northern Vietnam, China’s Hainan, and the Philippines, resulting in dozens of casualties according to initial reports. Vietnam’s meteorological agency has issued a warning about the ongoing risk of flooding and landslides as the storm continues to move westwards. Yagi caused extensive flooding, power outages, and infrastructure damage in Hanoi. Several casualties and missing individuals have been reported in Vietnam, China, and the Philippines.
