Change Healthcare, a health insurance IT company, has announced a temporary loan program aimed at providing financial relief to healthcare providers affected by a recent cyberattack. The program is intended to help with short-term cash flow needs, with the funds being repaid once normal operations resume. Senior US officials have been pressuring Change Healthcare to restore their systems and have been exploring contingency plans to support the company if necessary. The hack has had a wide-ranging impact, causing financial and health issues for providers and patients across multiple states. Change Healthcare has attributed the hack to a ransomware gang known as ALPHV or BlackCat.
